CONFIDENTIALITY & EDITORIAL AGREEMENT

This Confidentiality and Editorial Agreement is entered into effective immediately between VictoryLife House and anyone sharing a testimonial or personal story for reasons to have the submitter's testimonial or personal story published on the VictoryLife House web site.

1) VictoryLife House will post your story anonymously to only include your first and last initial and City and State in which you reside, unless you give us specific permission to use your full name.

​

2) VictoryLife House will review, edit, and make corrections to your story if required for grammatical ease of reading.

​

3) VictoryLife House will not give consideration to foul language, inappropriate details, or personal names of real people within your story, and will automatically discard any such submissions.

​

4) You agree to work with VictoryLife House in the editing process if your story in chosen to be published on our web site.

​

5) You agree to these terms when you have read these terms and agree to them prior to sending VictoryLife House your story.

​

6) Submissions for the Memorial Wall must be verifiable and not an opinion.

​

In return, VictoryLife House, at its discretion, may or may not post your survivor story on our Web site.

 

If we choose to share your story, this is in no way an offer for employment, monetary compensation, or a personal endorsement of you, your organization or your affiliates or advertisers.

VictoryLife House will not sell, reproduce, copy, distribute or disclose your story unless we contact you and you agree in writing beforehand.

VictoryLife House will not share your personal contact information, your real name or location unless specifically ordered by court order.

This agreement is effective immediately.

We provide information and resources on our website, including articles, Service Providers, press releases, photographs, client stories and case studies, reports, newsletters, video broadcasts, e-newsletters, quarterly updates, VictoryLife House annual reports, and interviews with personnel, corporate and community partners, clients, and volunteers (collectively, “Publications”). Unless otherwise expressly stated, all content provided on the Website is intellectual property that belongs to us. You are permitted to download information from the Website for your own personal informational use. It may also include voluntary anonymous information if you decide to fill out an anonymous survey asking for your gender, if you were a child of domestic abuse, if you are a survivor of domestic abuse, your current age bracket and if you live in the United States. This information is collected and is related to search queries that are run on our database. VictoryLife House uses this information for its own purposes and may also share this data collectively on its website in order to share the populations we serve. Names are not associated with the data collected on this survey.

 

How do we collect information about you?

We collect personal information you give to us directly. For example, we collect it:

•when you talk to us in phone calls, in meetings with our staff, or during video conferencing calls

•when you apply for a volunteer position

•when you sign up for our blog posts

The information we collect from you this way can vary widely, from information about a new phone number to a new e-mail address. Information we collect when you use our online services may automatically record certain information when you use our online services through your desktop, laptop, tablet, or phone.

•the web pages or sites that you visit just before or just after you use our services

Information we collect from other sources.

We may collect personal and non-personal information from third parties such as payment transactions. For example, a receipt. In that case, we’ll see: Payment amount; customer name; customer ID; WIX/PayPal/Stripe transaction ID; Billing address; customer email; shipping address; order item and quantity; invoice ID; email; phone; and date of purchase.

•For legal reasons. We may share personal information with law enforcement agencies, courts, or others when legally required, such as under a subpoena, court order, bankruptcy action, or other legal process, or to cooperate with law enforcement or other governmental officials

•Third parties when we believe it is appropriate to take precautions against liability, protect ourselves against unlawful activity, investigate and defend against third-party claims, protect the security and integrity of our operations, protect our property, enforce our legal rights, or protect the safety and rights of others

•Acquirers or successors as part of a merger, sale of assets, or similar transaction to which we are party (should this occur, we will continue to ensure that these privacy policies apply to personal information)

Generally, we limit the information we share to that which is reasonably necessary for these third parties to perform specific functions.

•Non-personal information. We do not consider personal information to include information that does not identify a specific user. This includes automatically-collected, aggregated, or other information that is anonymous. We may make this information available to third parties. For example, we may provide it when we comply with reporting obligations, carry out marketing activities, or study users’ interests, habits, and usage patterns.

If you do not wish to receive one or more of these types of communications from us, you may so instruct us by emailing us at VictoryLife-House.org and letting us know how to update your preferences, or by following directions that may be provided in the communication. Please be aware that if you opt out of receiving email from us or otherwise modify the nature or frequency of marketing communications you receive from us, it may take up to 10 business days for us to process your request. •Children’s privacy. We do not want to collect information from children. Do not provide any personal information unless you are at least 13 years of age, and please caution your children not to provide any. If a child under 13 has provided personal information, a parent or guardian may alert us at VictoryLife-House.org and we will, subject to applicable law and other provisions of this policy, use commercially reasonable efforts to delete it from our database.

 

•International visitors. If you use our services from the European Union or other regions of the world with laws governing data collection and use that may differ from U.S. law, you should know you are transferring your personal information outside of those regions to the United States for storage and processing.

VictoryLife House is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our products, collect your personal and contact information and allows you do donate to VictoryLife House. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall. 

All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by our company adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.
