MJ: Many people are afraid of therapy! They might picture One Flew Over the Cookoo’s Nest and don’t want to be labeled crazy.
Percell: There is no reason to be afraid of counseling and / or therapy. Now, you might be saying, “Of course, ‘you’ would say that.” Again, we often not knowingly place limitations on ourselves which make our lives more difficult than need be. We would not hesitate to ask for help if we needed the car repaired, or a pair of pants fitted, or a cooking recipe, however, when it comes to something as important as our lives, we faulter. Is not your life more important than the car’s engine, a pair of pants, or how the pasta tastes? The person whom seeks guidance through coaching / counseling / therapy is neither crazy nor confused, weak nor helpless; they are actually stronger than most others because they have realized the value of their lives, and are seeking guidance to become the best versions of themselves in life that they can be.
